The Khartoum Breast Care Centre (KBCC) building opened in 2010 has a radiology, pathology, surgery and oncology department and an outpatient screening and diagnostic clinic situated on the ground floor. We have two main wards and five private rooms with en-suite bathrooms that are all fully air-conditioned and meet international standards.
The facility features an operating theatre (OT) comprising of the latest diagnostic and surgical equipment and includes an anesthetic room and recovery room for pre and post-operative care. We have a specialized purpose built room for preparation of chemotherapy treatment, provided in a comfortable day ward. The option of staying as an in-patient while you undergo your treatment is also available. However, it is KBCC policy not to allow companions of patients to stay in-house; this is in the best interest of our patients.
The Khartoum Breast Care Centre also has its own on-site laboratory, complete with state of the art instrumentation and computerization for tests on blood and other biological specimens. Our imaging department is equipped with the latest full field digital mammography technology, computerized general x-ray machine and ultrasound equipment.
All departments, wards and rooms were built according to international standards. The ratio of nursing staff to beds, cleanliness and attention to infection control also meets these standards. The hospital has a Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD), which receives stores, sterilizes and distributes equipment to all departments within KBCC.
KBCC is designed to provide all relevant services and departments in one building, ensuring that patients receive the best possible care, conveniently and comfortably.
