Who we are
The Khartoum Breast Care Centre (KBCC) is a non-profit, privately funded organization that opened in October 2010. It is the only specialized and multidisciplinary Breast Cancer Centre in Sudan. With advanced diagnostic & surgical equipment utilized by our highly dedicated and qualified physicians & support staff, we have managed to establish an elite standard for specialized medical services in Sudan. KBCC covers not just Sudan but also neighbouring countries (Chad, South Sudan, Eritrea and Ethiopia).
We incorporate all the relevant specialities, Imaging, Pathology, Surgery and Oncology in one building, which leads to effective care, treatment and recovery for our patients. The hospital prides itself on international standards and every department uses state-of-the-art technology coupled with the latest diagnostic and surgical equipment.
KBCC has an experienced and dedicated team of highly trained professionals and physicians. All our clinical staff are professionally registered and partake in a range of annual medical training and updates to deliver an optimal level of care.
Understanding that early detection of breast cancer through regular screening can drastically increase the chances of survival the Khartoum Breast Care Centre offers mammography screening for women over 40 every two years as well as an assessment clinic, where if any abnormalities are found patients undergo a triple diagnostic process. This consists of a radiological assessment of the breast with the help of mammograms, ultrasound or both. A pathology assessment of specimens taken and a clinical assessment conducted by a specialist breast surgeon.
We acknowledge that each person represents an individual case, and provide breast cancer patients with a consultation with an oncologist to carefully plan and prepare their specific treatment and follow-ups. There are various types of treatment available for breast cancer patients: chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery.
The Khartoum Breast Care Centre encourages and informs women to be aware of all aspects of breast health. Information is power and can lead to early detection of cancer and KBCC strives to deliver the highest quality of healthcare in the community it serves.
